ProEd’s Contractor Update 2026: Greg Olson & Barry Stranz
Minnesota contractors need more than classroom talk. They need clear direction they can use on the next job. This Contractor Update delivers exactly that. We walk through the most important changes in the National Model Codes, so you know what is coming soon to the MN Residential Codes and how to prepare, covering the topics of decks and ledgers, energy efficiency, and accessory dwelling units under Appendix BC. Additionally, this course will deliver a primer on masonry foundations. We translate code language into simple field steps and we show how inspectors and insurers think so you can avoid delays and costly do overs.
You will also get the business side that protects your company. We cover required homeowner documents in Minnesota Statute 326B.809 and the statutory warranty in 327A, how to make sure your subcontractors are held to the same standards, and how manufacturer instructions carry legal weight. Expect practical examples, checklists, and model clauses you can use right away. Come to get straight answers, leave with tools that help you pass inspections, reduce callbacks, and keep your projects profitable.
